Dave Stevens: Drawn to Perfection is the authorized feature documentary about the life and art of Dave Stevens, the creator of The Rocketeer. Released by Samuel Goldwyn Films on Dec 2, 2022, the film is available now on digital and on demand. Also, its soundtrack is out now on all streaming and download platforms.
Dave Stevens: Drawn to Perfection (Original Soundtrack) contains the complete musical score and the songs featured in the film, all composed and produced by Paul Terry. The soundtrack is mixed by Jim Cushinery (mixer of the Sundance Grand Jury Prize nominated documentary For The Bible Tells Me So), and mastered by award-winning mastering engineer Alex Wharton (Paul McCartney, Radiohead) at Abbey Road Studios. The 48-track album has a total runtime of 78 minutes and includes a bonus track: an exclusive version of the musical suite created for the film's official trailer.
The cover art, with illustrations of The Rocketeer and Bettie Page by Dave Stevens, is designed by Serban Cristescu (Futurama, Disenchantment). This soundtrack album also makes history for SkyBabyRecords as its 50th release. Below is the official promo poster:
Dave Stevens: Drawn to Perfection is directed/produced by Kelvin Mao (10 Minutes Gone), produced/edited by Rob Chatlin (The Water of Life), executive produced by Robert Windom (Stars Fell on Alabama), and associated produced by Jennifer Bawcum (Dave Stevens' sister and executor of his estate, The Rocketeer Trust). Its 2022 release celebrates the 40th anniversary of the comic-book debut of The Rocketeer.
